How to change coolant and bleed the system using a header tank This is a video how to renew the coolant or antifreeze in a 1.6HDi Peugeot Partner (2007; ~103,000 miles; M59; 9HXC engine; 90bhp). The car is the same as a Citroen Berlingo. This procedures should be fairly the same in 1.6TDCi (Ford) and various other diesels, e.g. Volvo, Suzuki, Mini, Mazda, etc. This video is the complete procedure of changing the coolant, including the two bleeding points and a header tank. If you do not have a suitable bottle to create a header tank, you can just open the cap of the coolant tank and run the engine until no more bubbles are coming out or the first time the engine&fan has cut out. I am using Halfords&OAT red coolant/antifreeze. 00:00 - 00:15 Introduction 00:15 - 00:35 Coolant cap 00:35 - 01:37 First bleeding screw valve 01:37 - 01:58 Second bleeding screw valve 01:58 - 05:33 Drain coolant from radiator 05:33 - 06:19 Unscrew both bleeding valves 06:19 - 07:11 Drain all remaning coolant 07:11 - 07:30 Put heating on full 07:30 - 10:08 Hose back on and coolant fill 10:08 - 11:17 Close first bleeding screw valve 11:17 - 16:10 Header Tank to fully bleed system 16:10 - 20:35 Start engine with Header Tank 20:35 - 22:34 Haynes manual wrong on Capacity 22:34 - 22:52 Final words #BleedingCoolant Disclaimer: Use the information provided in this video at Your Own Risk.
