Claude Debussy - Rêverie

A reverie might be a state of dreamy meditation, but it’s not necessarily placid: the French word – rêverie – comes from ‘rever’, meaning “to speak wildly”. In this work, Debussy builds a series of musical textures, with just enough tension, like the flowing sounds of a dreamy river, sometimes stronger, sometimes quieter, but constantly alive. It might be a work from his youth, be it definitely shows a lot of his potential (and it’s one of my personal favorites). Thanks for watching!
