I am the last person who ever thought he would own a single cut guitar. I never really gelled with the vintage guitar aesthetic and I had to see what all the hype was about. Harley Benton has done it again. The SC-550 II is an incredible guitar. It has a premium feel and tone. While I did not mention it in the video, the sustain is great! Maybe I was wrong for not trying out a single cut guitar sooner? Harley Benton is really leveling up the quality, fit and finish. The clincher for me was the stainless steel frets. I don&think there are many guitar manufacturers putting out guitars with stainless steel frets for under $300? Update: I misquoted the price in the video as $275 USD. It was actually $295 plus $63 shipping. This is my very first experience with a single cut guitar shape, Gibson 24.75" scale length, tune-o-matic bridge, set neck, lacquered finish neck, Kluson style tuners and upper mounted pickup selector toggle switch. So much to explore and get acquainted with. The SC550 II comes in several different colors, but I had to go with this red flame maple top (BCF). It looks sick. I should also mention that Thomann carries several varieties of this Les Paul style guitar. If you decide to buy one, do your research on their website to ensure you are getting the one with the specs you want. Within the 550 model range alone, Harley Benton currently makes: SC-550 II, SC-550 Deluxe, SC-550 Plus, SC Custom, and they all have the same shape. The only thing missing from...
