No cache: 13 hours, 14 minutes, 28 seconds Cache: 6 hours, 52 minutes, 38 seconds So for adding cheap NVME SSD cache (Two $90 SSDs in striped partition for RAID 0 effect) equal to roughly 30% of the size of your HDD, you save roughly 50% of the time when doing a full read of your HDD. My PC specs: . . . Keep in mind that this is a WORST-CASE scenario, since Primocache is a smart caching system that will cache your most read files and will have a much bigger boost for actual usage. I did not give it a chance to build up a history of my most used files (technically blocks since it works at the block level and can&know which files it&caching). I will test load times in Steam games in a later video. Also keep in mind that RAID 0 and striped partitions is risky storage, since if one of the drives fails, you lose all of the data on ALL of the disks. Normal chance of SSD/HDD failure is pretty low, but once you start adding more and more SSDs/HDDs, the chance that ONE of them will fail goes up. This is why I&using my combined SSDs as cache for my HDD and some SSD space dedicated for only temporary writes. This is not a backup, though, since if my HDD fails, I still lose all of my data since that&where it&all stored. My main purpose of using SSD caching is to change full virus scans from taking half a day or longer to something that is actually feasible to do. I don&intend to do full virus scans every day, though. I just want a scheduled full scan to not take all day, and...
