Ohlins HD 772 shocks installation on 2020 Road King Special

Easy "bolt on" rear shock upgrade that is very well worth it especially for those who ride with the Harley Reach Seat. The cushion on the reach seat is very thin for the driver. Every bumps that jolts the frame can be felt. When the rear suspension bottoms out, the impact is very hard on the reach seat and the driver&back. With the Ohlins HD 772 installed, I re-visited the same road that gave me the harsh rides. From potholes to broken pavement, the Ohlins rear suspension absorbed everything without the harsh bottoming out. Sharp turns with bumpy pavements was executed with confidence as the rear wheel maintains full contact. What once was a traumatic experience is now a distant memory. The bike was so smooth on the roads, my wife actually ask that I should go find a rougher road to test on, not realizing these were the same roads that jolted us before. The price for the shocks were expensive and the Covid pandemic made it that much more difficult to find a dealer who has a pair instock. In my opinion, they are well worth the price for comfort and handling. For anyone who feels the stock shocks are too harsh, check out Ohlins. It&a night and day difference in comfort and performance. Seat cushion does make a difference. I have tested the stock suspension with the Sundowner seat. The Sundowner is plush compare to the Reach Seat. The Sundowner absorbed most bumps that the stock suspension did not but road bumps that bottoms out the rear stock shock was still bone jarring.
