NEXT GENERATION : 2024 2025 TOYOTA CH-R - REVIEW - RELEASE AND DATE - When it finally reaches Australian dealerships in the first half of 2024, the new Toyota C-HR will be available solely in hybrid form. In the local market, it will be the first passenger vehicle produced by Toyota that is not a member of the Prius family to be offered exclusively with hybrid power. The decision was made because hybrid versions of Toyota&most popular vehicles—the RAV4 and Camry—accounted for more than 70 percent of total demand in Australia last year. The second-generation C-HR will be Toyota Australia&first passenger vehicle to forgo the option of solely petrol power in favor of hybrid technology across the range, the company confirmed. Forty-four percent of 2018 Toyota C-HR purchases were powered by hybrid systems. While 32% of all vehicles sold in 2016 were hybrids, that number jumps to 70% when popular models like the HiLux ute and HiAce van, which do not offer hybrid options, are removed from the calculation. It&possible that the new C-HR won&be the very first Toyota vehicle ever sold in Australia, but it will be the first Toyota passenger car or SUV to go hybrid only (excluding the discontinued Prius family car). Expected to hit dealership lots in late 2023 or early 2024, the right-hand-drive version of Toyota&Tundra full-size US pick-up will feature only a hybrid V6 engine. New C-HR models sold in the area will be the same "closed-loop" hybrids that have been on the market...
