Russian Balalaika Orchestra & Vyacheslav Grokhovsky Pavlovsky Posad is a town in Moscow Oblast and is located at the confluence of the Rivers Vohny and Klyasma, 65 km to the east of Moscow. The city is known for the textile industry , especially the production of the famous worldwide Pavlovsky Posad shawls and scarves . Mention of the original settlement dates to 1339. During the War of 1812 Vohonskaya parish was one of the centres of the partisan movement against Napoleon&troops: in the area of present Pavlovsky Posad there was a battle between units of the division of General Ney and local peasants under the leadership of the parish elders, E. S. Stulova , farmer G. M. Kurin and Sotk IY Chushkin. The Pavlovsky Poasd was granted city status by a decree by Emperor Nicholas I on June2, 1844.....
