TS 590S PEP Output - W1AEX (720P HD)

This is a simple video of a TS-590S transmitting at 100 watts output into a 50 ohm dummy load. The output power is being measured with a well calibrated "true" peak-reading wattmeter. Watch the power output meter on the TS-590S and you can see that just as the Kenwood manual warns, it is NOT a true peak reading meter. If you watch the RF Power Monitor you can see that at normal voice levels, the TS-590S is producing between 50 and 100 watts of power, which is what would be expected of a sideband transceiver that is not being over-driven.
