Today we are going to discuss about pid(proportional band, integral, derivative)controller. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Video content: 1. What is Controller Modes, and what is controller responses to set point and process variable changes? What is controller modes? Controller modes is a function which defines proportional band function, the integral function, and derivative function for P Controller, P plus I controller, or P plus I plus D controller. Controller has three different modes. First mode is Proportional band gain. Second mode is Integral action. And third mode is Derivative action. Proportional Band(PB)- In P, I, D controller P stands for Proportional Band. It is proportional gain of controller, and its setting is within the PB module. This function is older terminology for controller gain. This function amplifies or attenuates the error signal, and the controller outputs a signal that is directly proportional this. Controller output= Gain*(PV - SP) GAIN = 1/%PB %PB = 100%/Gain The Gain function outputs a signal that is proportional to the size and shape of the error signal. Integral Action- This function also known as RESET action, and its setting is within the I module. It works as a function off time, to increase or decrease the controller Output at a rate that is proportional to the size of error signal, the difference between PV and SP, until the error signal is zero. Its output is the accumulated effect due to a...
