Toyota Vitz MAP sensor location for the 1000 cc 1KR-FE engine is located after the throttle body. The MAP sensor does not require cleaning and the only reason for removing it from its housing is because it is defective. The MAP sensor operates based on pressure created by the suction of the pistons pulling air through the throttle body system. The suction pressure is measured by the MAP sensor to determine the volume of air entering the engine.
