VW P0401 EGR fault easy fix

The customer had a new valve fitted and the problem persisted. I guessed it was either a dead but new cheap EGR valve or a wiring issue. The broken wire was immediately obvious when I took the plug off. It would have probably been broken inside the insulation and I got lucky as it had fully broken in clear view. Without that break I’d have had to check continuity from the plug to the ecu connector, using a wiring diagram and multi meter.
