FromSoftware is famous for Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring. Before that, there was King&Field (which also has plenty of retrospectives), but it had a sister series: Shadow Tower and Shadow Tower Abyss. This is a retrospective on the two games of the forgotten franchise to evaluate if they&still worth playing, and if they were good when they released. I did this deep dive in preparation to review Lunacid, a modern indie game inspired by these. This video delves deep into the mechanics and systems as I play through both games and reflect on them.
