LG Monitor Fault W2234S

I bought 2 of these monitors 18 months ago. They both developed similar faults within a week. The first one turns off and on every 30 seconds or so. The second one refuses to come out of power save mode. Seraching the internet shows lots of people having the same problem with the same monitor. LG customer services refuse to fix these. Be warned, their customer service stinks
