Simeon ten Holt – Canto Ostinato (1984)

Simeon ten Holt&magnum opus, Canto Ostinato ("Obstinate Song") scored for four grand pianos, but often performed with various instruments, on two pianos and solo piano and gives plenty of room for improvisation. Every different section always provokes a different emotional response. Crucial live recording of the best Dutch minimalist piece in the concert hall of Music Centre Vredenburg - Utrecht on 12th February 1984, performed by Arielle Vernède, Cees van Zeeland, Gene Carl and Gerard Bouwhuis.
