In this video we visit Church in Crouch End, London - world-famous recording studio now owned by one of most influential producers on planet, Paul Epworth. Church has deep and rich history. It was first re-purposed as puppet studio before being bought by Eurythmics, then passed to singer-songwriter David Gray and finally transformed by Paul into incredible space it is today. Studio has been home to records by Adele, U2 and Jay Z, and it’s also where band London Grammar made our second album "Truth is Beautiful Thing". Coming back to Church brought back so many incredible memories. We were shown around by brilliant Chiara Ferracuti, in-house engineer at Church, who’s recently worked on albums by "Last Dinner Party" and "Squid" with Marta Salogni. We spoke about her journey as engineer, her perspective as woman in male-dominated field and her passion for this studio. Along with old pal, producer and engineer Riley MacIntyre (Art School Girlfriend, Glass Animals, Militarie Gunn) we explored Paul’s extensive collection of rare gear: huge vintage Neve Console, original Mellotrons, Jean-Michel Jarre’s Korg PS-3100 and Powertran synth with connection to Joy Division.
