In this video, we have discussed how to identify hazards using FMEA tools. There are different variations of FMEA: a) FMECA: Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis, This method is used for Process. b) FMEDA: Failure of Effect and Diagnostics Analysis. This method is used for Products. c) Functional FMEA: This methods deals with Functions. There are steps to complete a general FMEA: a) Define the scope. b) Define the Functions. c) List down the components. d) Note down the different Failure Modes. e) Analyze the Effect( Severity, Probability and Consequences) Advantages: a) Easy to Understand; b) Easy to Verify; c) Provides complete documented Safety Study Disadvantages: a) Time Taking Effort b) Provides good result only when sufficient details are available c) Does not consider Common Cause Failures
