Billy Murray - Give My Regards to Broadway (1905)

One of the defining American hits. Charted at in July 1905. This, along with «Yankee Doodle Boy» was one of two hits for Billy from the musical, «Little Johnny Jones» and both led to Murray becoming one of the foremost interpreters of George M. Cohan's songs in the early 1900's. Another version of «Give My Regards to Broadway» charted at in 1905 for S. H. Dudley. One of the most famous performances of the song is that of James Cagney (as George M. Cohan) in the 1942 movie, «Yankee Doodle Dandy». Written by George M. Cohan.
