Golden Euonymus, Prune To Shape May 1, 2021

This was cut almost to ground last Spring. It survived and new growth were pruned lightly last November. Another light prune now to shape. However, I find that it may be infested with scale. On hind sight, that may be the reason why it turned black. Lesson&learnt - always thin branches so there is good air circulation and light. Crowding brings disease/insect/fungus etc. Also, plant the right size for the space. To be fair to myself, this was planted more than 20 years ago. I am still not a very good gardener, albeit that far back. Gardening, I find, id always a learning experience that make things fun and interesting.
