Almourol Castle - "Castelo de Almourol" - Portugal

On our last visit to Portugal my wife, Marilee, and I were fortunate to have a private tour of Almourol Castle. These are some of the photos I took that day. This beautiful castle sits atop the islet of Almourol in the middle of the Tagus River. It was erected in 1171 by the order of Gualdim Pais, the master of the Order of the Knights Templar. The song “Snow Will Fall” was written and performed by myself.
