The generator I used was a SPORTSMAN 6000 Watt Continuous/7000 Watt Peak PROPANE Generator. The generator we use for back power when the commercial power fails. The generator has a hookup we plug into outside and then we throw a 200AMP manual transfer switch located inside the garage to transfer from commercial to generator power. Everything worked great except for our two APC UPS (450VA and 550VA) would not work correctly on generator power. They would contantly switch back and forth to battery power and would eventually become exhausted and shut off. The 550VA APC UPS provided power for a desktop computer.
