Elite Dangerous Connection Error

I picked up Elite Dangerous on sale a few days ago on Steam, and although it&an awesome game, it has one nagging *feature* that has been driving me to hate playing it. Connection Loss. My internet is not awesome, but it&good enough for every other game I play, good enough to upload videos, and have too many tabs open all playing videos (20+). Why is it, that a game that is so far down the line in development, has major issues with play-ability? We&talking a connection drop / exit to menu consistently every 20 - 50 minutes of game play.
