Astrophytum caput- medusae Origin: A species of cactus that is native to Mexico. Flower: Yellow blossoms from spring to early fall. Plants may take up to 6 years to flower. Description: A unique cactus with cylindrical tubercles and reduced stem and its unusual shape differs from the star-shaped Astrophytum myriostigma “Bishop’s Cap”. Its tubercles can reach up to 7 inches long. Its color tends to become darker and purple when exposed to more sun.
