This is a quick fix for high CPU usage from Farcry 5. A workaround, that like any workaround, will have some drawbacks - specifically in terms of overall system performance. But, if you&JUST looking to play Farcry 5 (not streaming or multitasking on the computer) and are having high CPU temperatures that settings don&even touch, this may be the fix for you. **Seems to work best on AMD Ryzen 5XXX series chips best. It seems to be about 50/50 on Ryzen 7XXX chips and almost no positive comments with Intel. Title updated 11/7/23. Chapters: 00:00 Problem Introduction 03:18 Set CPU Maximum Power State 05:03 Enable Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling I was getting insanely high CPU usage and Temperature from Farcry 5, so I browsed for a fix: 1. Set the maximum power state of the CPU to 99% ... this will disable boosting on your CPU. Be aware that it may come with too much of a performance hit for your system. My PC runs fine without CPU boosting. FC5 seems to boost my processor constantly. I imagine this might help performance with the console versions, but I wasn&ok with the temps it was causing. 2. Ensure you have Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling turned ON. This will let your processor offload some of its work to the GPU and should help a lot. 3. When NOT playing Farcry, undo the change, as it is preventing your cores from boosting and will lower performance on nearly every other task.
