For those who like that sorta thing, here&the background info: Composed and performed on a Sequentix Cirklon, with a Befaco VCMC used as a MIDI CC controller. I use both its built-in faderbank, as well as convert voltages from Emblematic Catalyst, Ladik U-081 CV Fader and Instruo [2]f. 5 tracks provide one note of a chord each, while the other tracks are simple motifs that follow these with a Swap AUX track. This way I could quickly set up arpeggios and runs, while keeping the ability to tweak the chord progression. The Alesis Andromeda A6 makes up the staccato, rhythmic chords heard throughout. The VCMC controls filter, echo and reverb (coming from a Eventide Space pedal) while the Catalyst controls rhythm. This rhythm is handled by the Andromedas internal sequencer and lfo&(Cirklon is just sending sustained notes), which is what allows me to vary up the rhythmic structure with CC&To break up the rhythm seperately on each note of the chord, each note of the chord takes up its own timbral part and MIDI channel; that way I can send different CC&per note, breaking up the rhythms across the chord/stereo field. The Catalyst is great for this kind of control: with its preset buttons, I can jump between different rhythmic structures, with the slider I can interpolate between rhythms. Neat! The bass line is a BassStation Rack. This one is just controlled directly on the unit, since it&close enough to my MIDI setup. The A4 gives the arpeggiated synth towards the end, and the...
