Watch Dogs 2 – PS4 vs. PS4 Pro 1080p Mode Graphics Comparison

We compare the graphics of Watch Dogs 2 on PS4 with PS4 Pro in 1080p mode. To avoid any misunderstanding, the 1080p mode is not the same as the 4K mode and it is not comparable to Rise of the Tomb Raider which offers three different modes. Watch Dogs 2 played in 1080p on PS4 Pro offers an improvement that most games will offer too: downsampling. Watch Dogs 2 renders the image with the native resolution somewhere between 1440p to 1800p and samples this down to 1080p. This results in a sharper image with less aliasing, as you can see in the two scenes at the beginning. We did not notice any further improvements other than a more stable framerate. There might be some very small shader and post processing improvements, as some of the lights in the night show a little bit more bloom.
