Kizlyar Supreme Severus fixed blade review. D2 tool steel, the Severus is a perfect companion for hiking and camping trips, where you want a useful and practical sized knife with you but don&want to be hindered by carrying a big chopper. I see loads of videos out there where people are carting a huge chopper, an axe and a saw but strangely I don&see them carrying any: food, a tent, a sleeping bag, maybe even a fuel stove (where ground fires are forbidden-and they can be for many valid reasons), lights and warm or appropriate clothes LOL. Does that mean the car is just out of frame? Seriously be smart on the long day hikes a lighter fixed blade is the go. Leave the chopper for extended serious wilderness hikes/camps. Plus a knife such as the Severus won&get you receiving paranoid looks at the huts or where you will encounter more than several people at any campsite on well-walked tracks. Stay low key.
