Bosch Logixx 8, how to open the door when the latch handle breaks

The machine is just over 5 years old on a 5 year extended warranty of course. The model number is WAS28440AU/24. The handle for opening the door of this front loading machine broke and it needs a bit of thought on how to get it open. After disassembling a lot of this machine, thanks to a video from a YouTube user "Max rpm" who shows how the door itself is disassembled, I was able to work out how to get the door open without needing to disassemble any of the machine at all.
