Here&a bit o fun for ya. My mom occasionally would sing a couple verses from this song and I always thought it was pretty darn clever...and relatable. She told me that she learned it while in the Girl Scouts back in the late 50s/early 60s. I&since seen it published in songbooks (including an old Girl Scout songbook I picked up a few years back) and, of course, online. There are a lot of different versions and verses floating around out there. This is my own personal distillation. My banjo part is straight forward, with the first part sticking to straight &chick a&and &playing (no drop thumb). The second part (the chorus) incorporates a repeating right hand pattern with a phantom stroke and a bit of drop thumb.
