Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS - Reverse Engineer Scanned Models

In this video, I show you some of the “magic” the Geomagic add-in for SOLIDWORKS has to offer. By reverse engineering from a scanned model, the side plate cover to a 1970’s model Honda SL/SX 70. With the intent to make the esthetically pleasing “free-formed” side surface, that’s shape helps define the era of the bike, as exact as possible — besides, a second goal being spending as little time as possible to satisfy the requirement. I use both manual and automated reverse engineering techniques that demonstrate real-world challenges that can come from working with poorly scanned data.
