Hello. Greetings from Boonary TV. In today&topic of bizarre news, we will see "A robotic arm that uses tactile to help deaf-blind people". Where is this robotic arm available? How does it work? Let&find out. People who are deaf can communicate with their hearing friends and family through visually signed language, but what about those who are deaf-blind? For such people, language must be something they can touch. So it means that people who are both deaf and blind often need an interpreter to be present with them in-person for interactions with others who do not know Sign Language. But what if they don&have an interpreter? They&just helpless as they can&communicate. But now there&great news coming in. A student named Samantha Johnson studying at Northeastern University in the States has developed a robotic arm that uses tactile sign language to support the deaf-blind. She has named the robot TATUM, Tactile ASL Translational User Mechanism. During her time in university as a student, Samantha got a chance to interact with many deaf-blind people and she understood how difficult it is for them to communicate without an interpreter. It&a challenge for deaf-blind ones. Hence she came up with this innovative technology aiming for the future and made tactile robotic arms. How does it work? Watch ahead. Samantha then began working on this project. She was closely working with another woman named Jaimi Lard who is deaf and blind. Taking inputs and feedback from her, she developed a...
