3DO Optical Drive Emulator | MNEMO Installation Tutorial for a GoldStar 3DO | Retro Renew In today&episode of Retro Renew, I take a closer look at the 3DO Home Console. More specifically the Goldstar variant. As these CD based consoles age, their mechanical CD drives will begin to inevitably fail. To remedy that, and ensure that this console has many years of life, I will be installing an Optical Drive Emulator, or ODE, inside the 3DO to replace the CD drive unit. This particular ODE is from a company named MNEMO. I will go over a brief history of the 3DO as well as the company Goldstar and show you how to install the ODE into the 3DO system.
