The Cure - Lovesong - drum cover

I¬ sure why I love simple songs with lots of snare fills so much. I&played The Cult&She Sells Sanctuary a million times too, and I get the same sense of satisfaction from the simplicity within variety there too. Boris Williams, the drummer when this song was recorded in 1989 (and through much the Cure&better stuff) is a master of this art, creating great drum lines with just hi-hat, kick, a single crash or splash, and the snare. Lovesong (or "Love Song" as some would incorrectly but understandably have it), from 1989, is an easy drum song to play, there is no doubt, and good for a beginner drummer...if you have stamina. At 140 BPM (although it varies off that a little towards the end), it&certainly the fastest song I&covered here on YouTube, and I have to admit, after playing it a few times, my muscles start to ache. Still, good exercise I suppose :-) The song is pretty easy to play if you get past the stamina issue. I THINK (with a few places where my timing wanders a bit) I am playing it EXACTLY like the original. So if you are looking to learn this song, of course, listen to the original a million times, but you could do worse than taking this cover as a near-tutorial or lesson or whatever. Try slowing it down with YouTube&"playback speed" function if you have trouble figuring out the fills. It&a useful function I use often to figure out what people are doing. There aren&that many patterns (maybe 5?) and only a few slight variations on them a couple of times. Hi-hat...
