Michigan Competing Band Association Flight III Regarding the black and white video ... "The 1999 MCBA State Championship Video has a problem with the multi-camera format. It will only play back in black & white. It took me a futile 6 extra months of dealing with TV station broadcast engineers and video processing equipment manufactures attempting to resurrect the color we saw during the taping of the performance in October 1999. The color burst voltage, when viewed on an oscilloscope was only about .1 volt instead of the .4 volts it was supposed to provide. This caused the playback to be black & white. Although it could not be fixed. I have learned how to prevent its recurrence in the future. As a way of compensation for this defect, I have included the entire Flight performance a second time, in color, from the high camera overhead angle to enable you to see all the formations. The entire running time will be about 3-3/4 hours as a result. I left no stone unturned in my quest to provide a quality video in color, and wound up not only not having the color, but caused a delay of about 6 months in delivery of the program.
