#retrogaming Full game. South Africa v New Zealand Rugby World Cup &a video game designed by Creative Assembly and released by Electronic Arts, was launched for the Sega Genesis and DOS platforms. The game marked EA&inaugural venture into rugby union simulations. Utilizing the engine from FIFA International Soccer, it was modified by EA&Slough development team to align with rugby union rules instead of soccer. The game presents an isometric perspective similar to FIFA, where players can control one of the fifteen members of their rugby team at any given time, with the option to switch between players as needed. The game supports up to four players simultaneously, allowing each to control a different team member. Players have the choice to manage the same team or compete against each other, with the computer controlling the non-player characters. Rugby World Cup &boasts an extensive roster, featuring all twenty national teams from the 1995 Rugby World Cup, an additional ten teams from the qualifying rounds, and two fictional teams created by EA - the EA Barbarians and EA Maulers. Despite representing real teams, the game&characters are endowed with fictional names. Genre: Sports - Rugby Union Released: 1994 Core: GenesisPlusGX #RugbyWorldCup
