Cloudlifter CL-2 Mic Activator Product Overview

Today at J.W. Pepper we are taking a look at the Cloudlifter CL-2 mic activator from Cloud Microphones. We’re going talk about what it is, how it works, and give some audio examples with and without it so you can see if it&right for you. These mic activators are compatible with moving-coil dynamic microphones, tube microphones, ribbon microphones, or any mic that uses a battery such as a shotgun microphone or any battery-powered condenser mic. They do not pass phantom power to the microphone, which is the exact feature of this product. It converts that 48v phantom power to clean gain. For microphones like ribbon microphones it will protect them since phantom power can actually damage those mics. Setup for Cloudlifter is extremely simple since there are no buttons or any type of configuration, just an input and an output.
