The price of the camera is $999 USD. You can also get the cheaper version HC-VX870 $899 which doesn&have the second camera built in. There is also another similar camera out on the market, it is the Sony FDR AX33 with a Carl Zeiss lens, and it is priced at $997. There are not many Ultra High Definition cameras available for the regular consumer as of now. The cheapest 4K camcorder that was available until now was the Sony FDR AX100 which was priced at $1999.00. It does have a bigger sensor, 1 inch, compare to these newer cameras which have only a 1/2.3" sensors, so definitely the image will be a little compromised, especially at lower light conditions. If you are looking for professional cameras, the most affordable one is the Panasonic HC-X1000 which will run you anywhere from $3000 - $3500. After that you&looking at the Sony cameras like the FDR AX1 at $4499, and the PXW Z100 which is a whopping $5499. Canon has some great cinema 4K cameras but they are crazy expensive. Canon EOS C500 $15999 without the lens. JVC also just released their affordable 4K camera the GY-HM200 but that gears more towards the professional market and it costs $2695.
