This video came about as a request. YouTube user, 4DAwzomBroz, recently purchased the same SCART to HDMI scaler that I use for his PS2 wanted to know how this scaler would look with other retro consoles of his youth. So I decided to upload some capture tests, starting with the Sega Saturn. Like all Sega consoles, the Saturn is one of the easiest to get good quality video. With RGB SCART as it&best option. But it&inferior video options are also worth taking a look at. The Saturn&composite video output is surprisingly good. At least for composite video. It&most noticeable flaw is flickering colours around 2D objects and crawly edges. The Saturn is also Sega&first console to natively output S-video, which alleviates all the issues of composites video. RGB SCART offers the same level of sharpness as S-video with the added bonus of an enormous boost to the colours. A final note, I used two upscalers in this test. For composite and RGB, I used the SCART to HDMI upscaler. For S-video I used a Lenkeng S-video to HDMI scaler, because the former doesn&support S-video through SCART.
