Asus R665L (X555) laptop No backlight on battery "fix" | TheVidsByDennis

This video is about how I "fixed" the screen flicker issue on an Asus R556L (the internals say X555) Laptop, this was the LVDS version I don&know if the eDP versions has the same issue. The issue is that when it&running on battery power the backlight driver only gets 8.4V at most, that is not enough voltage to work properly. In my testing it started to work properly when it was getting more than 9.5V, the problem could have been probably prevented if Asus shipped these laptops with a 3-cell battery. This also explains why it works when plugged in, when it&plugged in the 19V from the PSU is routed to the screen and the screen works properly.
