Salut D’Amour was written by the English composer, Edward Elgar in 1888 and was dedicated to his love, Caroline Alice Roberts. The title was originally &meaning &Greeting&or simply &Love&and he gave it to her as an engagement present. The title was later changed to the french ‘Salut D’Amour’ and the dedication of ‘A Carice’ was added. Carice was a combination of his wife’s names- Caroline and Alice. It was also the name given to their daughter a few years later. It is a piece of heartfelt love and joy and captures the essence of Love perfectly 🎶 🌹 I am joined on the piano by Chad Kelly
