It is also closer to its primary than any other satellite in the solar system. Phobos travels only 3,700 miles (6,000 km) above the surface of the red planet – by comparison, the Moon is 384,400 km above Earth and has a diameter of 22.5 km. Phobos named after the Greek God and personification of Fear and Panic. Deimos Deimos (pronounced DEE-MOS) is the second moon orbiting the planet Mars along with Phobos. Considered the second moon of Mars because its orbit path is much further away than Phobos, Deimos is also the smaller of the two moons with a diameter of just 12.4 km (7.7 miles). Deimos is named after the Greek God and Personification of Dread and Terror Video Credits: Video Created By: Bhaumik Parekh Graphic: Space Engine Video Assets: Envato Elements Music License: Audio Jungle, Envato Elements Sound Track: Revolution Research Sources & Credits: This video is captured and created using Space Engine Pro.
