The Volkswagen Bora (Pīnyīn: 大眾寶來, Hànzì: Dàzhòng bǎo lái) for the Chinese market is a C-segment compact sedan/station wagon (as the C-Trek) manufactured & marketed by the German automaker Volkswagen since 2001 as the result of the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. Originally started as a rebadged version of the fourth generation Jetta & the Volkswagen Bora in other parts of the world, it went through a few heavy facelifts, & production carried on with new updates long after the international Volkswagen Bora was out of production. First generation (1J, 2001-2008) The original Volkswagen Bora was started out as a rebadged fourth generation Jetta. The Bora received a facelift in the summer 2006, with a fifth generation facelifted Passat lookalike front end which is a rebadged City Jetta. The model was available in Mexico, Canada, Brazil, & Argentina from 2008 was likewise facelifted with the same design found in China. There&a highly modified Jetta called as the Volkswagen Lavida (Pīnyīn: 大众朗逸, Hànzì: Dàzhòng lǎngyì) for the Chinese market, developed by SAIC-Volkswagen on the same platform. Bora HS (2006-2008) A hatchback version of the Bora is also available after the facelift known as the Bora HS. Second generation (2008-2015) The Bora received a complete makeover in 2008, being marketed as the New Bora, & from 2010, it is marketed as the Bora.
