After topping the UK charts with a cover of Dionne Warwick&"Anyone Who Had A Heart", former Cavern Club coat-check girl Cilla Black was given this epic torch song as a follow up. Produced by George Martin, this was originally an Italian ballad called "Il Mio Mondo," which had been translated by Carl Sigman and arranged by Johnny Pearson - becoming "You&My World". It went on to become her second UK and broke her worldwide (including in the United States) where this became her only hit. Cilla was discovered by Beatles manager Brian Epstein and she went on to become the most successful female singer of the Mersey boom. Later she became a leading TV presenter in Britain, hosting the successful BBC music show "Cilla" between 1968 and 1976, and in the 1980s and 1990s mainstream ITV hits Blind Date and Surprise Surprise.
