A review/sound test of one of the best flatwounds on the market. Thomastik JF345 Flatwound for five string bass. Thomastik makes great Flatwound. The strings have low tension and feel like silk. The sound is warm, but still very punchy. There not cheap, there one of the most expensive strings out there. About 80 euros for the five string set. But the strings will last almost for ever. Tested on a Status shark five string on the neck pickup with the eq set in the middle. recorded in Reaper 6.05 First 4 clips are straight in the audio interface with no plugin (only with a slight EQ) Last two clips have a; IK media amp simulator plugin A boss GT6b multi effect pedal (metallic distortion setting) Test results; If you want flatwounds you have to get the Thomastik flatwounds. They are low tension so you have to get some neck adjustments. Rock the bass and see you in the next video #thomastik
