Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - 2002 Winter Games, Ice Dancing, Free Dance - Barbara Fusar-Poli and Maurizio Margaglio of Italy were able to hold onto 3rd Place in the Free Dance, despite a fall that required a mandatory 0.1 deduction from the Technical Merit mark. The 3rd Place placement in the Free Dance guaranteed them the Bronze Medal. I felt even after the deduction, they received pretty generous marks for their dance, especially the 5.9 and 5.8s received for Artistic Impression.
