Clip 1 – 4 = Arturia Minibrute 2 Noir (starts at 0:53 min) Clip 5 – 7 = Moog Grandmother (starts at 3:57 min) This time we are taking a small excursion from the funk universe into the land of hip hop and rap music with this little demo track. It´s a simple hip hop inspired beat accompanied by a variation of bass and lead tones courtesy of Arturia MiniBrute 2 Noir and Moog Grandmother analog keyboard synthesizers. What we have here are two very competent contenders for the job both capable of pulling some crazy good sounds that work extremely well in the rap/hip hop context. I have to be honest with you and say that Moog is probably the better synth of the two (if you can afford it) thanks to its more spacial and inviting front panel, lovely keybed as well as its genuinely fat tone bringing you the real Moog character that no other synth can deliver so effortlesly and authentically. However when doing this side by side comparison, I was shocked about how well the Arturia performed next to a real Moog synth. If you consider the price difference Arturia is a super fine instrument that can easily satisfy most all your analog sounds needs and is especially handy for making those deep fundamental basses, searing leads or worm solo lines that fit so perfectly into any hip hop/rap production. If you are into synth music and your main focus is on making hip hop or rap tracks, these two wonderful synths have so much to offer and might even become your end game for all bass and lead...
