Vortex Bladeless How it Works, scheme (2020)

This is a Vortex-Induced Vibrations resonant wind generator. In other words, a bladeless wind turbine based in the vortex shedding effect, but it is actually not a turbine since it oscillates instead of rotating. We divide our design into the mast (upper part) and the base (lower part). In the base, we can find the anchorings for the plate to the ground and the carbon fiber rod. The mast is attached to the upper part of the rod, interacting freely with the wind. Our idea of the alternator, which is the last part of our development in progress, consists of copper and magnets with a fixed part and a moving part as any alternator, just minding our movement is sphere-like shaped and 360º. This alternator acts also as a "tuning system", a magnetic repulsion system that is able to modify the elasticity constant of the mast to keep it "tuned" with a wider range of vortex frequencies, therefore wind speeds.
