"Hail the Woman" is a poignant social drama starring Florence Vidor, Theodore Roberts, Lloyd Hughes, Madge Bellamy, Gertrude Claire, Tully Marshall, Vernon Dent and others. A conservative "god-fearing" man, who believes that the only purpose of women is to stay at home and raise children, drives away his daughter for alleged indecent behavior. At the same time he covers the dark secret of his son, a future minister. All the stars deliver excellent performances, especially Florence Vidor and Theodore Roberts. In artistic qualities "Hail the Woman" compares favorably to the critically acclaimed D.W. Griffith masterpiece "Way Down East", created the year before, which tackles similar themes.
