Competition in the handheld console market seems to be intensifying. Lenovo plans to join Valve, Asus and Nintendo. The Chinese are preparing a laptop called Legion Go, the first exclusive images of which were published by Windows Report. The form factor of the Legion Go is very similar to the Steam Deck and ROG Ally – it is quite a powerful device that will have an 8-inch screen. The location of the buttons is copied from the Xbox One controllers, the same asymmetric analog sticks and YBXY keys. There is a touch pad under the right stick, like on the Steam Deck, but Lenovo has two such trackpads, one on each side. Legion Go differs from "adult" portables by removable controllers, which can be considered a clear reference to the Nintendo Switch. It is not shown in the renderings, but it is logical to assume that the two halves can be connected together and work as a full-fledged gamepad when connecting the set-top box to a monitor or TV. On the back, there are two triggers that can be activated with the index finger, and several auxiliary buttons under each hand. There&also a Surface tablet-style slide-out stand on the back to place the console on a table and play with the detachable controllers. There&no word on dimensions, but the Legion Go looks like a pretty thick device, at least compared to regular Android tablets or iPads.
