Thomas and Friends Thomas The Train Minis Toy Train Collection. We are going to show you a collection of over 100 Thomas and Friends mini trains. This collection of Thomas The Train Minis includes DC minis, warrior minis and a lot more. These are very tiny trains that all connect to each other. In 2015, Mattel released a brand new Thomas & Friends toy named Minis, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the entire Thomas & Friends franchise. The range features numerous characters from the show in a vast variety of different themes. They are small models, each acquiring a 4-wheeled chassis configuration and a hook and loop coupling system. The tender engines have their tenders moulded onto the overall unit, behind their cabs and boilers. The Minis released in 2015 included the themes: Classics, Metallic, Chillin&Heroes, Robo, Spooky, Racers, Dinos, Old School, Neon, DC Super Friends, Christmas and Warriors, the latter two being exclusive-only themes. The 2 methods of distribution for the Minis were surprise bags and visible packs, the latter only being sold in the U.S. The surprise bags had codes to identify and distinguish which bag contains which Mini model. The surprise bags were released in 4 series throughout 2015, each with it&own unique set of Minis. Because of the immense popularity and demand of the Minis, the range was continued in 2016 with Mattel incorporating more themes and characters into the popular toy-line.
