Download the piano sheet music here: Friedrich Kuhlau (1786-1832) was born in Germany and died in Copenhagen. He was a known concert pianist and composer throughout Scandinavia. Kuhlau knew Beethoven personally and was influenced by his music. In 1830 Kuhlau lost many of his manuscripts in a fire. Shortly after, he died of tuberculosis.
